 Mr. Link,
I meant to email you in January about the behavior of some of your male students from Christian County High School at a cheer competition here in Caldwell County. Many times in the news we hear about inappropriate behavior of teens, their disrespectful attitudes, and their “me, me, me” mentality. As I approached the Caldwell County section, I thought, “Great. I’m going to have to put up with a group from another school and won’t be able to enjoy the competition.”This was certainly not the case with the gentlemen I was fortunate enough to have sit near me.
Instead, I talked with, laughed with, and yes, even cheered with some of the most polite and respectful teens, and I wanted you and your Board of Education to know they represented Christian County High School and your district very well. These students traveled to Caldwell County to support the Colonels cheerleading squad. From our conversation, I learned that many of them dated the girls as evidenced by the t-shirts they proudly wore. I learned, too, that one played basketball, a couple played soccer, another played basketball and football, and the last played basketball, golf, and baseball.
I learned later the names of these awesome students: Donovan Kates, Trey Gayle, Jonathan Grabara, Josh Knight, and Mitchell West. These young men are to be commended for their school spirit and their behavior!
Respectfully,
Paulette Gray Principal Caldwell County Primary School |
