Carter Hendricks, a 1991 graduate of Christian County High School and 1995 graduate of Western Kentucky University, most recently served as the President/CEO of the Christian County Chamber of Commerce, a 900 member strong 5 star accredited chamber of commerce and 2013 Finalist for National Chamber of the Year. Carter served at the Chamber in various roles since 2004. Prior to his tenure as President/CEO, Carter served as the Senior Vice President of Community and Military Affairs at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Chamber of Commerce.Carter currently owns and operates Momentum Consulting, LLC with a commitment to help organizations and businesses improve their business models, develop sales and marketing plans, initiate fundraising efforts, advocate for key priorities, and offer leadership and professional development.Carter’s professional recognitions and accomplishments include: graduate of the US Chamber’s Institute of Organization Management, recipient of the City of Hopkinsville Mayor’s Make Your Mark Award, recipient of the Sherry Jeffers Leadership Award through Leadership Hopkinsville-Christian County, recipient of Kiwanian of the Year through Hopkinsville Kiwanis club, graduate of Leadership Fort Campbell, recipient of the Pennryile Area Development District’s William B. Bryan Leadership Award, recipient of the National Area Development Organization’s Innovation Award, and recipient of various military recognitions and commendations.Carter’s current and past civic involvement includes serving as the immediate Past President of the Hoptown Hoppers collegiate summer league baseball team, immediate Past-President of the Hopkinsville Kiwanis club, board member for the Hopkinsville YMCA, board member for the United Way of the Southern Pennyrile, Past President/ board member for the Kentucky/Tennessee Chapter of the Association of the United States Army, mentor for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives, board member for the West Kentucky Regional Chamber Alliance, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher/Director at Olivet Baptist Church in Herndon, Kentucky, and Past President of the Hopkinsville-Christian County Boys and Girls Club.Carter is married to Faye Eleanor Hendricks, teacher and coach at University Heights Academy, and is the proud dad of Lily Kaye (12) and Chase (10).With a decade of experience helping to improve our community at the Chamber of Commerce and through involvement with various organizations, I have firsthand knowledge of what people want in Hopkinsville. They want more retail choices. They want more restaurants. They want more entertainment. They want more housing. They want growth.... As your Mayor, I pledge to work toward making Hopkinsville the best community in the Commonwealth and a place where others want to be because I know that growth only comes when we become the community of choice for regional residents, new military families, new industry workers, etc... That is why I am committed to the following priorities as I believe they lead to growth...: 1.Safe and clean streets and neighborhoods through smart and strategic investment in public safety and beautification2.Outstanding education and job training opportunities through partnerships with key stakeholders3.Job creation through business and industry recruitment and retention utilizing forward thinking marketing strategies and aggressive incentive packages4.Outstanding quality of life through the creation of new parks, sidewalks, greenspace, infrastructure, and retail and entertainment options5.Strong partnerships with Fort Campbell, county government, other cities, economic development organizations and throughout the community to ensure all residents enjoy living in Hopkinsville6.Transparent, fair, and affordable government through an organizational commitment to excellent customer service and efficiencies in operating the cityOver the coming weeks, I will be providing more specific ideas and details as to how we can accomplish these priorities and what I've done to improve our community since moving home in 2004.
